In the beginning, I visited our daughter Judith, her husband Ron and our grandchildren Yehonathan, Negev and Amichai. Then Judith and, I went to Haifa where I worked with Avishay on the German translation of his book “I am searching for my family”. Indeed, Judith had done a great job.

On the second evening, Miri and Meni Dror picked us up and we drove to their house in Ein Yaakov in Upper Galilee. We visited the Lebanon border and also met their cousins that have roots in Leipzig.
On Shabbat, we went back to Sitria where the family Stern lives. I also visited Dan Chamitzer, the grandson of the physician and sculptor Raphael Chamitzer, who was very popular in Leipzig. Dan is a famous and very diverse artist in Israel.

A few days later Kerstin Kluge came to Israel, and we drove to Avishay to continue working on the book. We met the children and grandchildren of Avishay and Chava as well as Ileni, Yona and the cousin of Avishay from New York. Then we visited the family of Steffi Seldermann (born Bamberger) in Kfar Blum and stayed a few days at the home of family Dror.

On the way to Sde Boker we stopped in Jerusalem and met Josef Aaron. To prepare the women’s trip in the upcoming year we checked out some sights and accommodations. Despite the massive construction activity, the roads and highways are constantly congested and you need a lot of patience. While Kerstin stayed in the desert, I went back to Sitria and visited with Judith Ruth Laps. On the morning of my flight back Rachel and Avner Boskey came for breakfast.

The days in Israel were full of wonderful meetings, conversations, prayers, meals, and full of laughter, and crying. I am always amazed at what great relationships we have with people in Israel. For this we give all the glory to our Lord and Messiah Yeshua.
