In February Maria Hoffmann has been to South Africa to connect with Jews and Christians and deepen these relationships. Unexpectedly, she suffered a very strong back pain that limited her options.

Even in pain, she visited some congregations to show our movie ‘Survival – three Jewish generations’ und talked about our work. Jewish groups in Cape Town saw the movie, they reacted very positively.

In addition she could participate in the disaster operation of Mercy Air after the cyclone ‘Idai’. The amazing hospitality of our friends Holger and Maria Ziessler helped her during this hard time.

By surprise we met a Jewish couple that owns a jewellery store. Quickly the dam was broken and they told Maria their Jewish past, which she should continue to research.
