On July 20, Maria and I attended an event where the pavilion with ‘Fountain of tears’ in Birkenau was dedicated to the Lord.
This date was chosen because at this day was the signing of the 1949 ceasefire between Syria and Israel, that ended the war of independence that begun in May 1948, completing the rebirth and founding of the state of Israel in its former borders. For Rick and Dafna Wienecke this means the completion of the physical construction in Birkenau and the installation of the sculpture, which distinguishes the property for the Lord. ‘Fountain of tears’ is a voice for the land and the people of Israel calling out of the wilds of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
