Commemoration of the Shoa in the RamBam hospital in Haifa PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 08 May 2009 10:13

After a great time with our daugther Judith, participated Maria on an commemoration hour of the Shoa in the Rambam hospital in Haifa. Our dear friend Prof. Avishay Golz told the touching story of his family. Many nurses and physicians listened with a  lot of sympathy to the report about the hard destiny of his family in the time of the Shoa. But the story didn't stay depressing or a shame for us as Germans, it became a story of hope. He talk about his research in Leipzig, how he met Maria, about the church service in June 2007, where members of the Andreas church gave in a suitcase full of objects which were precious to them. He spoke about how this changed him so deeply that he calls now Maria "sister", a member of his family.

Maria spoke some words about the promise Ruth gave Nomi, the same promise she gave to Avishay and Israel, also if hard times will come. A special expression found these words in the sculpture that Rick Wienecke from Arad created and Maria gave to Avishay and the hospital.

The song that Rachel and Avner Boskey from Omer sang underlined Marias words.

The reaction of the members of the hospital was amazing. Prof. Golz is still receiving emails and they are still talking about the song and the special commemoration hour.

Baruch Maayan by us PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 08 May 2009 09:45

After 2006, visited us Baruch Maayan from Sde Boker in March. Beside our church he served in Döben, Herrnhut, Halle, Dresden and Hamburg. His deep understanding of the Bible from  his Hebraic background and his prophetic view of our call as church of Jesus for this time were a challenge for many people. He preached that we need to cut off f the aberration of the substitution theology, because the church is a substitute for Israel in the salvific history of god. The church of Jesus has an important duty, it needs to serve Israel and the Jews, in their divine call as light and priests for the nations, in the same way Ruth, the Moabite served a woman from Judah, Nomi (see book Ruth in the Bible). Baruch isn´t just teaching he also is an artist and illustrates his teachings in paintings.

Afternoon meeting 25.03.2009 PDF Print E-mail

At the 25.of March were we able to enjoy a special afternoon with Jews from Leipzig in the Andreas church. Beside the wonderful songs and dances was a guest there from Israel. He talked about his dramatic way with god. The people felt about that very different. We would be happy, if also Jews from Leipzig would get curious about the unique god of Abraham, Isaak and Jacob, so they would feel the desire of him to have a relationship with them.

Peace prayer at the week of brotherliness PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 08 May 2009 09:08

At the 2. of March we created with the Jewish-Christian consortium at the peace prayer to the week of brotherliness "There was never so much departure 2009". Teenagers of the Andreas church and we, went the way of the Jewish-Christian dialog to a commonness, in our own identity. After the failure and becoming blamable of the church and Christians on the Jewish brothers ans sisters in the 2. world war is it still a hard way, that needs brave people which invest trust and  leave prejudices behind themselves. For this we desperately need the wisdom and the help of god.

Women trip february 2009 PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 09 March 2009 18:22

Like last year we drove one week  through Israel to visit and spend time with women who believe in Yeshua and survivors of the Holocaust.

This year our group was grown to a team of 6 women, 5 from Germany and Judith from Israel.

On Friday we arrived in Tel Aviv and went from there to Sde Boker, where Kelly, Karen and Mary expected us already. It was a happy reunion and we spend a cosy Shabbat evening together.

On the next day we were hiking together with the women from Sde Boker. Out intention was to visit a Bedouin woman and pray for her, but unfortunately we did not have enough time for the long way to her.

Women from Sde Boker visited her.

In the noon time we drove to Omer, were Rachel Bosky and other women from Omer, Beer Sheva and Arad had an amazing lunch prepared. It was a happy and a sad meeting. Some women from our group visited Stephen and prayed for him. It was the last time we saw him, in the beginning of March he passed away.

In the evening we went to Kardesh Barnea to Avishay and Jolanada - friends and family ha prepared a surprise party to the 50. birthday of Avishay. Over there we met a lot of our friends from the Negev and made new contacts to other believers. We met a woman who lives with her husband from Switzerland in the middle of the desert on the way between Mizpe Ramon and Eilat. Next year we are planning to visit them.

Sunday we visited in two groups family Hirshfeld in Ezuz and the Shalom family in Kemahin.

Both families are doing well. Family Hirshfeld built so called "Zimmer buses". The created out of old  buses new, comfortable and stylish guestrooms. Who is interested in these guestrooms will find a link with pictures on our link page. The Shalom family have slowly progress in their project (construction of a guesthouse and vineyard). Ronen Shalom produced a new music album in English and Hebrew.

It was very important to us to meet women that we met in October to the women conference and to network. We appreciate it that new women are coming with us from Germany to spend time with our sisters and brothers in Israel. Sunday afternoon we had a very intense time with the women from the church in Beer Sheva.

About the relationship to the Jewish women who believe in Yeshua is to say that the one new body, like it is written in Ephesus 2, becomes more and more reality. Also we are getting to know each other better and appreciate our differences and see that as an enrichment.

Monday and Tuesday we spend in Arad by the family Wieneker, at the Dead sea and in Tivon with Ruth.

On Wednesday we met Steffi and Zahava in Kfar Blum. We had a good time together and we prayed for both. We felt that it is very important to visit the survivors of the Holocaust as often as possible since they are at the end of their way of life.

We also felt that it is time to travel with two different teams in the land - one to visit the people in the North and one to visit the people in the South.

From Wednesday to Thursday we were in Jerusalem. In these days we enjoyed Jerusalem and spend time at the 24/7 prayer and stayed at Liora house.
