The first time "Brundibar" was performed by the children choir of the Gewandhaus in Leipzig in a new production by Philip Neumann, was in 2005 at the Jewish week. This new production was very impressive and so we got the idea that the children choir of the Gewandhaus could perform it in Israel to the symbol of reconciliation and approximation.
It took 4 years until the project was realized and even expanded with the inclusion of the Moran children choir from Israel. The particular parts will be divided by children of the German choir and of the Israeli choir.
The first part of the project will be realized in March 2009. The Moran children choir comes to Germany. Together with the children choir of Gewandhaus there will be two shows. One will be in Leipzig in the Gewandhaus and the other one will be in the Jewish Museum in Berlin.
The children of the Moran choir will be accommodated by the children of the Gewandhaus choir and there will be different meetings between the children and teenagers. The Principle of the opera: "You need to count on friendship and to go new ways" will be realized in multifarious ways.
The second part of the project will be realized probably just in September because of financial reasons. |

The last meeting with the Leipzig Jewish community was a big suprise. A Dutchman from Amsterdam was suddenly the center, as he told the story of his deceased wife, who came from Leipzig. She went after the "Kristallnacht" in 1939 with a Refugee Children Movement (Kindertransport) to England. Her parents survived the concentration camp Terezin, but were quite ill. Her Dutch husband brought now the art of his wife, Helga Behr, to Leipzig. It is her personal heritage. He was there with a spirit of reconciliation in this lovely meeting of artistic performances with friends.

A small group of men from different churches engaged themselves with the adventure of prayer. In the "father house" of the Jersualem church we spend a great time together with different kind of Jews and Christians from all over the world in prayer. In this time we forgot our personal problems and the watch and had a deep time of worship and intercession for Jerusalem, the city of great kings and for Israel. The amazing view out of the panorama window at the place of the temple was a big inspiration. We had a great experience while a working input with a spontaneous meeting with Arabic children. We had a lot of fun playing with them football. Their mothers served us Arabic coffee and tea and we could pray for a grandmother. We were all very touched.

Later we joined a prayer vigil in the "Jerusalem house of prayers for all nations". We prayed especially for Europe and Germany. Since 21 years they're praying without a break. Men and women prayed in a very deep spirit of prayer. We never prayed with such a strong believe for our nation.

Later we had a very personal prayer time in the tabernacle in Nes Harim in the Mt. of Judah. This place was created with a lot of love and wisdom by Arni and Yonit Klein and is very adequate place for prayer groups.

This year we travelled with a big group of women from Leipzig, the "Erzgebirge" and from England to Israel, to have an intense time of meetings. We had an important time in Jerusalem, were we visited as well the ultra orthodox quarter of Jerusalem "Mea Shearim". For the women retraite got around 80 women from different parts of the Negev togehter. The women were Jews who believe in Yeshua as their Messiah and Arabic women who became Christians. Maria, Kristiane and Muriel brought them a message of love and reconciliation. Very intense was the time of prayer and conversations. Most of the women from the Negev desert didn't know each other since they came from different places who are far away from each other and often they didn't got the money for a car.The time was a big encouragment.

From the 2nd until the 5th October 2008 Avner and Rachel Boskey with family Gilbert from Omer and Arni Klein from Nes Harim were at the conference "pure worship". Not just there music but also their challenging messages leaded to the presents of God. All messages had as their main conclusion that God is looking for more maturity in his folk. He is looking for people who are being changed by the Messiah also in tough situations and people were God can find parts of his own son. Again we felt that messianic Jews have a special call for worship. Very clear became our responsibility as Germans for the fate of Israel and the Jewish folk. |
