Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles

Review

"On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you bring in the fruit of the land, you shall keep a feast to the Lord for seven days........You shall take fruit from beautiful trees, palm fronds and branches.... and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days." Lev 23:39-40 That's exactly what we did!!! Not seven days though, just two. We met on Wednesday afternoon to put up a huge tent on the lawn in front of the parish hall. Thursday evening we set off. A large coach arrived at the gate and "spit out" around 30 young people from Israel and Brandis. They were all young musicians. They immediately set up their music stands, unpacked their instruments and off they went. From the "Little Green Cactus" to the "Hatikwah", the Jewish national anthem, everything was included. A wonderful programme!!! In the meantime, our tent was filling up. We ate, drank, sang, heard interesting facts about the Feast of Tabernacles and, of course, danced Israeli dances in the campfire light at the end. Throughout the evening, we heard a funny mix of German, English and Hebrew. Our tent filled up again on Friday. Many friends from the Ukrainian Messianic community and Christians from near and far came. That evening, German and Ukrainian were the predominant languages. A young man we had met in Jerusalem led us in worship. We spent a wonderful evening in our leaf hut, in which it had become quite chilly by the end. Fortunately, we were able to dance ourselves warm again at the end. We are so grateful for the two wonderful evenings and the many guests. A big thank you to everyone who helped us with the set-up, dismantling and in the kitchen. Your Kerstin and Tor nach Zion e.V.

17 and 18 October, we will once again celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. It is the last great biblical autumn festival, which is celebrated for 7 days. A festival of joy, the grape and olive harvest. For 7 days, the Jews dwell in tabernacles in remembrance of the 40 years of wandering in the desert after the exodus from Egypt and the fact that the God of Israel wants to dwell among His people. This festival finds its fulfilment after the return of the Messiah Yeshua, when the Lamb Yeshua as the Bridegroom will celebrate his wedding with the congregation as the prepared bride. Place: Scharnhorststraße 29, parish hall of the Ev.-Luth. Andreasgemeinde Time: 17 and 18.10.24, 19:00 We are happy about "Bring & Share" - everyone brings some finger food. Drinks will be provided. Admission is free, we appreciate a donation.
