Service for Israel Sunday Andreasgemeinde
Review
Peter Slowik gave an impressive sermon on the occasion of Israel Sunday on 4 August in St Andrew's Church. Is God only there to optimise my life? He wants to watch God at work as the ruler of the world. He has realised his bitter proclamations and sent the Jews into exile - the garment of mourning - where are the people who need our comfort? Breathtakingly, he has fulfilled his promises and gathered Israel again - the garment of joy - meet the Jews. God is faithful to his people, now at war with their neighbours - the garment of strength - Israelis struggle to live together with their neighbours. Studying the Torah - the robe of wisdom and the Gospel - the robe of divine truth - the prophets, Jesus and me today. Back to the living God - that's what I need! Maria reported on our youth project in Grimma with a short film and on the wonderful reactions of the parents from Kibbutz Magen. They invited us to their kibbutz. There is already another enquiry from the north. This is also frontline territory. Kerstin reported on her experiences on her last trip to Israel
