We celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles 5786
Review
This year, we once again erected a large tent on the lawn in front of the Andreasgemeinde parish hall and invited people to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with us on two evenings. We decorated our Tabernacle (Sukkah) with flowers, fruit, cloths, fairy lights and posters to make it look really cosy.
We began by welcoming the guests and reminiscing about the Israelites' journey through the desert to the promised land of Canaan. God's people travelled for 40 years and only lived in leaf huts during this time. It is also a harvest festival and there is a foreshadowing that one day all nations will go to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
We began with joyful worship, ate the delicious food that the guests had brought, listened to two interesting impulses about the prophetic meaning of Sukkot and about the Word of God. On Friday evening we also celebrated the beginning of Shabbat and at the end of each evening there was of course Israeli dancing on the lawn by torchlight. Once again, we would like to thank everyone who came to celebrate with us and of course all those who helped us with the preparation and follow-up of the festival. Thanks also to our God, who gave us the gift of love for his people.

Moses was commissioned by God to lead the Israelites to the promised land of Canaan. This journey took 40 years. On the way, they lived in "Sukkot" (huts of leaves). The festival commemorates this, which is also the Jewish harvest festival.
We would like to celebrate this joyful festival with you again this year and cordially invite you to
Thursday 9 October and Friday 10 October
at 7.00 pm
in the community centre garden of the Andreasgemeinde
Scharnhorststr.29.
We want to sing and dance together and hear how and why the Feast of Tabernacles is celebrated. Of course we also want to eat, drink and be merry together.
It would be great if everyone could contribute something to the buffet. Just bring what you like to eat and a drink.
Admission to our leaf hut is free. However, anyone who would like to can make a small contribution to cover the costs.
Please let me know if you would like to help us set up/dismantle the leaf hut. I would be very happy about it!
