Prayer Conference Nuremberg October 2023
In the shadow of the unspeakable crimes committed by Hamas on 7 October at the end of the Feast of Tabernacles, almost 300 Christians came to Nuremberg to pray for Israel. The Christian Forum for Israel had issued invitations for 27 and 28 October. The occasion was 75 years of the State of Israel, but the main focus was on our mission as Christians for Israel, the community and Germany's responsibility. The enduring mission over the generations is demonstrated by volunteers in Israel, new forms of ministry such as ReformaZion and the co-operation between Christians and Messianic Jews. Impulses on individual topics alternated with intensive times of prayer together. We were particularly moved by the testimony of Messianic pastor Colin Michell from the Karmiel congregation in Haifa, who spoke of the reconciled coexistence of Jews and Arabs in his congregation and of the threats posed by terror. Our grandson Negev enjoyed helping at the reception and in the children's ministry. As a sign for the kidnapped hostages, he lit 240 tea lights in front of the community centre.
